Catan HD for iPad is a very slick implementation of the famous board game “Settlers of Catan”. This strategy game is relatively young compared to the classics, but is so well designed that it feels like it has been around for a long time. You compete with other players for settlements while trading and acquiring resources as you play the game. The app fits well into the iPad interface with movable elements making it easy to swipe and discover the birds-eye-view for your next strategic move. You can play with as many as four other players at the same time in this app. The game is very inclusive and supports all levels of players at the same time – players are never eliminated, and there’s always a goal within reach for those who are lagging behind. 
The latest version adds a seafaring mode. The computer opponents are good and quite hard to beat, so the game offers a lot even if you’re playing it by yourself.
