Slice It! is one of those iPad apps that perfectly blend simplicity with ingenuity. The concept is simple: draw lines through shapes in order to create symmetrical halves. But here, simple doesn’t mean easy. In fact, it’ll likely surprise you just how challenging these shapes can be to divide. The developers have broken the game down into chapters. Chapter 2 is a step in difficulty from Chapter 1 and so forth. Each chapter has twenty shapes, and when the game launched, there were three chapters. But each time the developer has released an update, which has been twice thus far, they’ve added a brand new chapter.
The neatest thing about Slice It! is that the player can work through the game at their own pace and with their own system. You might find that a puzzle in Chapter 3 is easier for you than some in Chapter 2. So the game lets you go ahead and complete that one as you work toward beating the game. The game also has an achievement board, and the achievements add another layer to the game by having you collect stars and other items. The only issue with the game is that each puzzle has one right answer even though multiple solutions exist.
