Fedora Utils 1.0 Release Candidate

Today, the latest RC of Fedora Utils 1.0 has been released. The RC has some noticeable new features from the beta including minor bug fixes and code cleanups.

As I stated earlier, Fedora Utils lets you install codecs and softwares as well as tweak your Fedora system with just few clicks. Also, you can just select the tasks and let Fedora Utils do those one by one.

After downloading, navigate to the download directory and execute the script in terminal as root.
sudo ./fedorautils-*

Changes from first beta,
  • The downloads are saved in the users Desktop in a folder "Downloads"
  • It can use the contents of the Downloads folder instead of downloading the same files again. You can put your downloaded files to the Downloads folder before the script is executed
  • Now you can select from which daemons to turn off right from the GUI
  • More softwares added and Java updated to 1.6.0 update 24, LibreOffice updated to 3.3.1
  • Optimized for smarter handling of installations

Full changelog is at the Project Page: fedorautils.sf.net

Since it is opensource, you are welcome to contribute to the project.
